Châteaux Dans Les Arbres

Combining two childhood dream abodes, the treehouse and the fairytale castle, the Châteaux Dans Les Arbres make an ideal setting for a carefree vacation. The regal lodgings are scattered in the woods near what had been part of the moat surrounding a ruined feudal fortress in the Périgord region of France. Wooden footbridges carry visitors across the former moat to the four fantastical treehouses with their turrets and spires poking through the tree tops.

The Châteaux Dans Les Arbres were designed and built by owner and expert treehouse builder Rémi Bècherel, who named them after the nearby châteaux that inspired their unique designs. Unlike the stone originals, these versions are built of wood from sustainably managed forests.

The four treehouses range in size from the one-bedroom Cabane Monbazillac to the three-bedroom Cabane Hautefort, which even has a small but fully-equipped kitchen. In between is Cabane Milandes, with a bedroom at the top of each of its two towers. The newest treehouse, the one-bedroom Cabane Puybéton, offers the highest level of luxury with a spa bathroom, Finnish sauna, and a sitting area with cozy fireplace. All four treehouses have spacious decks with a hot tub, allowing visitors to survey the countryside while enjoying a relaxing soak.
