Looks like they used cement board mock-shingles. A real mother of a product to work with, especially difficult to make the keyways look believable. Still, its a much nicer look than regular cement board lap siding, or some of the other god-awful products that people are slapping on the sides of buildings these days.
Why are the “key ways” on your shingle courses so close together (as a cape cod builder)?
